"Amemo-nos uns aos outros, para que num só pensamento professemos"

Ἀγαπήσωμεν ἀλλήλους ἵνα ἐν ὁμονοία ὁμολογήσωμεν

      Στο παλαίφατο Πατριαρχείο Αλεξανδρείας, υπό την εμπνευσμένη καθοδήγηση της Αυτού Θειοτάτης Μακαριότητος, Πάπα και Πατριάρχου Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής, κ. κ Θεοδώρου του Β', η Ορθοδοξία αναπτύσσεται ταπεινά, μακριά από την ιταμότητα της επικρατούσας θρησκείας. Σε αυτούς τους αγιασμένους από τη φτώχεια τόπους, η λειτουργική επιταγή "ἀγαπήσωμεν ἀλλήλους, ἵνα ἐν ὁμονοία ὁμολογήσωμεν", αποτελεί "σημείο επιβίωσης" και συνάμα μοναδική και δυναμική μαρτυρία της ορθόδοξης πίστης.

        Στο βροχερό και ζεστό Μαπούτο, την πρωτ εύουσα της Μοζαμβίκης, σήμερα 04/03/2012, Α' Κυριακή των Νηστειών, Κυριακή της Ορθοδοξίας, στον Καθεδρικό Ναό των Παμμεγίστων Ταξιαρχών, ορθόδοξοι πιστοί από διάφορα μέρη του κόσμου, γηγενείς και μετανάστες, συμμετείχαν στην ευχαριστιακή σύναξη, με προεστό τον Θεοφιλέστατο Επίσκοπο Μοζαμβίκης, κ. Ιωάννη.

       Στη θεία λειτουργία, η οποία εψάλη στα ελληνικά, αγγλικά, πορτογαλικά, φιλανδικά και ρωσικά, έλαβαν μέρος, ιερείς από τη Φιλανδία, την Ελλάδα καθώς και μία αγλλίδα ορθόδοξη μοναχή, βιώνοντας την οικουμενικότητα της ορθόδοξης πίστης. Ως προέκταση της λειτουργικής σύναξης, στην ευχαριστία μετά την Ευχαριστία, σε όλο το εκκλησίασμα παρετέθη γεύμα αγάπης στο επισκοπείο, μοναδική ευκαιρία πνευματικού συμπνευματισμού.

        Ευχόμαστε το ιεραποστολικό κλιμάκιο της Μοζαμβίκης & κάθε άλλη ιεραποστολική προσπάθεια ανά την υφήλιο, να συνεχίσουν να μεταφέρουν με ενθουσιασμό το φως και τη χαρά του ευαγγελίου.

  

   Celebrating “Sunday of Orthodoxy” in Maputo’s Cathedral

            We had the blessing to celebrate the Sunday of Orthodoxy in Archangels Cathedral of Maputo. We offer here the press release delivered on 5^th of March:

            “Amemo-nos uns aos outros, para que num só pensamento professemos"

  "Let us love one another that with one mind we may confess"

  Orthodoxy is developing throughout the patriarchate of Alexandria, under the inspiration and guidance of His Beatitude, the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodore II', free from the arrogance that can emerge in established Churches.

In those blessed and poorest countries, the liturgical command "let us love one another that with one mind we may confess" is the sign of the unique, dynamic witness of the orthodox faith.

On the 4th of March, first Sunday of Lent, the Sunday of Orthodoxy, in hot and humid Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, orthodox Christians from all over the world, indigenous, immigrants and visitors participated in the Eucharist, lead by His Grace, the bishop of Mozambique, Ioannis in the Cathedral Church of the Archangels.

The Divine Liturgy was sung in Portuguese, English, Finnish, Greek and Russian, priests from Finland and Greece, together with the local community and an English orthodox nun, manifested the catholicity of the orthodox faith.  The procession of the icons, after the Eucharist, lead into an "agape" meal where all the present were invited to participate in the bishop's house. 

We wish the missionary team of Mozambique and every other apostolic effort worldwide to continue spreading the light and the joy of the gospel to the remotest parts of the earth.
